Job Description:
We are seeking a Director of Public Affairs and Strategy to join our leadership team. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with a proven track record in public affairs and a deep understanding of media relations, branding, and campaign management. The successful candidate will be adept at navigating complex political landscapes, crafting persuasive public narratives, and driving policy-related communication initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead comprehensive public affairs strategies that enhance the company’s reputation and align with business objectives.
- Engage with key stakeholders, including media, government officials, and the public to build relationships and advance the company’s interests.
- Oversee the creation of impactful messaging and content for various platforms, ensuring consistency with brand voice and strategic goals.
- Direct crisis communication efforts, providing swift and effective strategies to maintain the company’s image during critical events.
- Conduct high-level audience research, utilizing focus groups and polling to inform campaign direction and messaging.
- Lead and mentor a team of public relations professionals, fostering an environment of creativity and professional growth.
- Collaborate with the executive team to integrate public affairs into broader corporate strategies.
- Measure and report on the effectiveness of public affairs campaigns, making data-driven recommendations for future initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in public affairs, media relations, or a related strategic communication role.
- Demonstrated experience in leading successful public relations campaigns and managing a team.
- Strong understanding of the political environment and experience in advocacy or policy communication.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Strategic mindset with an analytical approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
