Media Manager (Albany, NY; New York City area)

Relentless is looking to hire a Media Manager with confident communication and people skills. Media Managers are expected to possess superb project management and organizational skills with the ability to work comfortably under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

To ensure success, Media Managers should demonstrate a wide degree of creativity and latitude with a keen interest in shaping clients’ images and values through appropriate communication to a variety of audiences (media, government, the public). Media Manager Responsibilities:

  • Identify press opportunities through evolving issues.
  • Develop content for dissemination via press releases, social media, websites and other distribution channels.
  • Ensure that key messages align with vital business strategies.
  • Serve as a client media liaison and formal spokesperson.
  • Conduct press conferences and briefings.
  • Scan media marketplace to keep up-to-date on the latest media trends.
  • Monitor online and offline campaigns, and report on results.
  • Negotiate with media channels on behalf of clients’ media buying.
  • Build and manage clients’ social media profiles and presence.
  • Promote additional projects to support client announcements.
  • Build long-term relationships with media influencers.
  • Appropriately manage clients’ media budgets.

Media Manager Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications/Media or related (essential).
  • Three years of work experience as a Media Manager/similar position, previous experience as a journalist, reporter, or editor, or a mix.
  • Demonstrable experience with building effective media campaigns.
  • Ability to create appropriate content for dissemination via press releases, social media, websites and other distribution channels.
  • Ability to conduct press conferences and briefings.
  • Understanding and ability to use Associated Press (AP) style.
  • Ability to nurture long-term relationships with key media influencers.
  • Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and research skills.
  • Natural leader who displays strong decision-making and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and public speaking skills.

Projects and Operations Coordinator (Albany, NY)

Relentless is looking to hire a Projects and Operations Coordinator with confident communication and people skills. Projects and Operations Coordinators are expected to possess superb project management and organizational skills with the ability to work comfortably under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Assist in the management and supervision of the day-to-day operations of the
    Agency, supporting the Projects and Operations team.
  • Assist and support planning of client account work, as necessary.
  • As directed, assist in performing staff and intern performance reviews, and developing corrective plans/actions.
  • Draft and distribute agendas for each client’s weekly meeting. Compile and
    organize relevant notes based upon meetings with staff and clients.
  • Onboard new accounts with account servicing, scheduling, and personnel.
  • Assist Projects and Operations team, in receiving/addressing client requests and
    supporting project management back-of-house.
  • Participate in and contribute to development of general communication strategies
    for clients.
  • Perform general office administrative tasks (e.g., prepare correspondences,
    answer phones, organize schedules, etc.)
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Communications Associate Internship (Albany, NY)

The Communications Associate Internship is geared to toward communication, language arts, marketing, business, and journalism majors, introducing them to the internal operations of an advertising, public relations, and events agency. Given our diverse client portfolio, interns will be expected to work within an emerging agency environment.

Interns are responsible for the following and is not limited to:

  • Assist the agency on strategic communication and advertising materials;
  • Build and update media distribution lists for use by Media unit;
  • Assist with client-related pitches to media outlets;
  • Assist with event management and coordination, including but not limited to: vendor relations, show management, logistics;
  • Assist with general office operations, including but not limited to: data entry, direct mail, correspondence.
